11 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,530
Mower County logged 4,407 confirmed and 123 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,530 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 11 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials stated that 40,682 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 537,100 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County now has 12,828 cumulative COVID-19 cases, a jump of 36 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 3,662 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 15 from Tuesday and Freeborn County recorded 3,296 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up nine from Tuesday. Dodge County confirmed 1,725 cumulative cases Wednesday, up five from Tuesday and Fillmore County reported 1,522 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up four from Tuesday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,611 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 560,450, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 13 Wednesday to 7,044 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 29,372 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,990 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
