26 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 5,283

Mower County logged 5,125 confirmed and 158 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 5,283 since the onset of the pandemic, up 26 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 44,022 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 633,700 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 15,101 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 65 from Thursday, Steele County reported 4,624 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 32 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,021 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 34 from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 2,265 cumulative cases, a rise of 20 from Thursday and Fillmore County reported 1,798 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up eight from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,138 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 655,418, and they added that five additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,844 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 35,521 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,223 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
