27 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 6,317

Mower County logged 6,113 confirmed and 204 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 6,317 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 27 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 48,521 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 722,200 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 17,821 cumulative cases Friday, a jump of 84 from Thursday, Steele County reported 5,724 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 37 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,808 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 17 from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 2,681 cumulative cases, up 14 from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 2,363 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 37 from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,352 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 755,401, and they added that 28 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 8,407 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 39,722 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,403 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
