29 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wendnesday for cumulative total of 6,067

Mower County logged 5,875 confirmed and 192 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 6,067, up 29 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 47,377 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus,and over 699,200 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 17,093 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 84 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 5,502 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 36 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,623 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 30 from Tuesday.  Dodge County recorded 2,591 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up three from Tuesday and Fillmore County now has 2,157 cumulative cases, a rise of 12 from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,886 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 729,334, and they added that 40 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 8,243 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 38,573 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,811 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
