42 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Tuesday for cumulative total of 5,228

Mower County logged 5,075 confirmed and 153 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 5,228 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 42 from Monday, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 44,781 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 630,200 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 14,921 cumulative cases Tuesday, a spike of 145 from Monday, Steele County recorded 4,533 cumulative cases Tuesday, a jump of 71 from Monday and Freeborn County now has 3,945 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up 47 from Monday.  Dodge County confirmed 2,204 cumulative cases Tuesday, up 30 from Monday and Fillmore County reported 1,783 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 16 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,882 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 649,964, and they added that six additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,811 since the onset of the  pandemic.  A total of 35,121 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,139 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
