63 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 5,382

Mower County logged 5,221 confirmed and 161 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 5,382 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 63 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 45,207 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 642,400 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 15,304 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 144 from Tuesday, Steele County recorded 4,798 cumulative cases Wednesday, a jump of 139 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,127 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a rise of 78 from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 2,311 cumulative cases, up 38 from Tuesday and Fillmore County reported 1,825 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 22 from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 5,777 positive COVID-19 tests in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 663,248, and they added that nine additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 7,865 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 35,797 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,294 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
