A drunk driver picks up an extra criminal charge for drinking an officer’s Mountain Dew
Police in Little Rock, Iowa received a report on Sunday morning of a Ford Explorer parked in the middle of the road.
Benjamin Gray, 38, was found slumped over in his seat in the Explorer with his pants down around his thighs, apparently intoxicated.
His eyes were bloodshot and he was slurring his speech, according to police. An officer put him in his patrol vehicle, and then went back to search the driver’s vehicle, allegedly finding finding a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe in his center console.
While the officer was searching his vehicle, Gray apparently found an unopened can of Mountain Dew in the officer’s center console and started drinking it.
Gray now faces an extra charge for fifth-degree theft, in addition to drunk driving and drugs charges.
