A Wisconsin woman shot her friend, while using a gun’s laser to play with a cat

Jashanti Pleasant, 19, of Kenosha, Wisconsin accidentally shot her friend last week, while playing with a cat.

Officials say that Pleasant pulled her friend’s 9mm handgun from a nightstand drawer and was using the gun’s laser sight to get a cat to chase it along the floor.

The gun went off, and a bullet hitting her friend in the thigh.

Pleasant told police that she thought the gun hadn’t been loaded. She was arrested for causing injury by the negligent use of a weapon.

Her friend was treated for the gunshot wound at the hospital, but may face charges related to the gun he was shot with, according to the Associated Press.
