Aaron Lewis hits #1 with “Am I The Only One”, and it has people talking
Outlaw country favorite and ‘Staind’ rock front man Aaron Lewis has made a surprising surge to the top of the country charts.
Aaron’s song “Am I the Only One” just hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country chart, and the song’s pointed patriotic message has brought both praise and criticism.
The song takes aim at the removal of Confederate statues and even left-leaning rock icon Bruce Springsteen.
Am I the only one sittin’ here
Still holdin’ on, holdin’ back my tears
For the ones who paid with the lives they gave
God bless the USA
Critics point out that, while the lyrics of the song mention ‘bleeding or taking a bullet to be free’, Lewis never served in the military.
“I wanted to go military when I graduated high school”, Lewis said in 2017.
The pro-America message in the anthem has struck just the right chord with plenty of fans, though.
Been an @Aaronlewismusic solo act fan since Nashville hosted the All-Star game. Tweeted this song a month ago. People are tired of the BS. Great song, great musician! Keep it up! https://t.co/6yqSFW67Kn

As for Staind, Lewis and the band will be hitting the road with Korn this year and are expecting to release a new album in 2022.
