Administration at Austin Public Schools released a statement Thursday concerning alleged social media posts involving the George Floyd murder case…

“We have been made aware of social media posts that have been circulating in the community regarding the “George Floyd Challenge”.   While the original event did not involve students of Austin Public Schools, it is impacting our students, staff and families.  We want all of our students, families and staff to feel safe and welcome at school.  We do not condone these acts and are working every day to create an inclusive community.  If you see or are aware of people struggling, needing to talk, or have concerns to share, please reach out to your building administrator or counselor.”
