Albert Lea woman injured in two-vehicle accident in Freeborn County Thursday afternoon

An Albert Lea woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 69 in Freeborn County Thursday afternoon.  

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2014 Dodge Caravan being driven by 32-year old Heather Lee Bennett of Albert Lea and a 2015 Toyota truck being driven by 74-year old Ramon Paez of Laredo, Texas were both southbound on Highway 69 at approximately 3:42 p.m. Thursday afternoon when the two vehicles collided while turning onto 9th Street.  

Bennett suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital  in Rochester for treatment. Paez and two passengers in his vehicle, 14-year old Carla Yazmin Paez and 71-year old Rosa Marie Paez, both also of Laredo, Texas were all uninjured. The State Patrol indicated that all parties involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.

The Albert Lea Police and Fire Departments, plus Mayo Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Thursday afternoon.
