Amazing Albert Lea Tigers baseball season comes to an end in State Tournament

The Albert Lea Tiger Baseball team saw their season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion, as #2 seeded Sartell hit a walk off homer in the bottom of the 7th to edge Albert Lea 3-2 at the Mini Met in Jordan.
The Tigers took the lead in the 4th, with a RBI single by Joe Flores to go up 1-0. Albert Lea would add another in the 5th to go up 2 nothing.
Sartell would answer back with one in the 5th and one in the 6th to tie things up. In the bottom of the 7th, with one out, Sartell’s Steven Brinkerhoff, with a walk off homer to send the Sabers to the Class 3A State Semifinals.
The Tigers finish the season with a 12-12 record.
Albert Lea made their first trip to State in baseball in 52 years.
