Area volleyball roundup from Tuesday evening

The Grand Meadow Superlarks volleyball team played host to Glenville/Emmons in a Southeast Conference matchup Tuesday evening, and it was the Larks coming away with a 3-0 sweep 25-18, 25-21 and 25-9.

Lauren Queensland led Grand Meadow in hitting with 10 kills, plus she was one of three Superlarks in double figures in digs with 14, and she also served an ace, Rebecca Hoffman registered seven kills, two set assists and three digs, plus she led the Larks in ace serves with three, Heidi Weiss tallied five kills, one set assist and one dig, Kendyl Queensland chipped in four kills and 13 digs defensively, Isabelle Fretty led Grand Meadow in set assists with 29, plus she added eight digs and one kill, Lexy Foster provided four kills and an ace serve, Haylie Paul added three kills, Sydney Cotton led the Larks in digs with 20, plus she served up two aces and added a kills, Kiley Sneed chipped in five digs, Rylee Schaufler had one kill and three digs and Hailey Lovjoy had one kill and two digs in the sweep.

The win puts Grand Meadow into first place in the West Division of the Southeast Conference with a 4-1 record, a half-game better than second-place LeRoy/Ostrander, and they are now 6-4 overall on the season.  The Superlarks are back into action Thursday night at home versus Houston, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.

Speaking of the Cardinals, they kicked off a three-match homestand Tuesday evening versus Kingsland in the Southeast Conference, and it was LeRoy/Ostrander winning in four sets 25-15, 25-17, 19-25 and 25-23.

Benita Nolt helped to lead the way to a win for the Cardinals with 13 kills, which was tops for the squad, 11 digs, three blocks and two ace serves, Jordan Runde contributed seven kills, 20 digs, which led the Cardinals in the match, plus she added an ace serve, Kaylee Huff chipped in three kills, 11 digs and, she led the team in ace serves with five, Jenna Olson led the Cardinals in set assists with 28, plus she added three kills, one ace block and three ace serves, Kaci McKenzie tallied three kills, one ace block and three ace serves, Brooke Jasper added two kills, six digs, one block and one ace serve and Maddi Huntley tallied 11 digs defensively in the win.

With the win, the Cardinals are now 4-2 in the West Division of the Southeast Conference and 5-5 overall.  LeRoy/Ostrander will be at home for their next match Friday afternoon versus Mabel/Canton, with the action scheduled to start at noon.

In the Gopher Conference, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms played host to Janesville/Waldorf/Pemberton Tuesday evening, and it was the Blossoms registering a 3-0 sweep 25-19, 25-20 and 29-27.

Haven Carlson and Sierra Larson led the way offensively for BP with 12 kills apiece, plus Larson added four digs and five blocks, and Carlson also chipped in five ace blocks and four digs defensively.  Addison Doocy was a blocking machine for the Blossoms Tuesday night with 13, which was tops for the club to go along with five kills and three digs, Macy Lembke led Blooming Prairie in set assists with 31, and in digs with 16, plus she added two blocks and two ace serves, Madi Lea tallied one kill, six digs and four ace blocks, Grace Krejci tallied eight digs and three ace serves, Anna Pauly had two kills, six digs and two blocks, Lexi Steckelberg also tallied eight digs and served two aces and Abby Hefling added three digs defensviely in the win.

With the win, the Blossoms evened their conference record at 1-1, and they are now 4-5 overall on the season.  Blooming Prairie returns to action on the road in a Gopher Conference matchup Thursday evening at Kenyon/Wanamingo, with the varsity match scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
