Austin City Council receives update on city’s wastewater treatment facility renovation and expansion project at Tuesday work session

The Austin City Council received an update on the city’s wastewater treatment facility renovation and expansion project from Public Works Director Steven Lang during a work session following their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday evening.  Austin Mayor Steve King spoke with KAUS during the “Meet the Mayor” segment of “Wright Here, Right Now” and stated that the project is going to be an impressive one…

Mayor King went on to state that the project must move forward as soon as possible, despite inflationary costs and no bonding dollars from the state…

End of the legislative session deadlock left a bonding bill for state public works projects high-and-dry, including the city of Austin, which was seeking $20 million in bond funding toward completion of the project, which Lang stated to the council is projected to now cost $94 million.
