Austin man involved in two-vehicle accident in Steele County Friday evening

An Austin man was involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and 52nd Ave. SW near Ellendale in Steele County early Friday evening.  

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by 17-year old Sydney Andrea Hall of Owatonna was westbound on Highway 30 at 6:31 p.m. Friday evening while a 2008 Ford Tarus being driven by 38-year old Matthew Ryan Springsteel of Austin was southbound on 52nd Avenue.  The State Patrol reported that the vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads.

Hall was transported to the Owatonna Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while Springsteel was uninjured.  The State Patrol reported that both parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, and the Ellendale Fire and Police Departments, plus the Steele County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Friday evening.
