Austin man sentenced to 12 years in prison on felony criminal sexual conduct charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who had sex with someone under the age of 16 on multiple occasions in 2019 has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.   

22-year old Salomon Blanco Ortiz, also known as Jaimie Martin Martinez was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in prison for a felony charge of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, victim under 16 years of age, significant relationship, personal injury.  Ortiz was given credit for 681 days already served, and Judge Natalie Martinez also determined that Ortiz will also have to spend 10 years on conditional release after confinement.  

Ortiz pleaded guilty to the charge on September 23rd, 2022 after initially pleading not guilty on April 8th, 2021, and a felony charge of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, victim under 16 years of age, significant relationship, multiple acts in the case against Ortiz was dismissed with his guilty plea.
