Austin man sentenced to further supervised probation for felony criminal sexual conduct charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who was sentenced to 15 years of supervised probation in Mower County District Court for a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct in December of 2019 has been sentenced to further probation time.

23-year old Colin Charles Belden was convicted and sentenced Friday to 15 years of additional supervised probation for a felony charge of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13 years of age.  A 48-month prison sentence was stayed for 15 years if Belden complies with the 26 different terms of his probation, and Judge Jeffery Kritzer determined that Belden can serve his two sentences concurrently. 

Belden first pleaded guilty to the charge in September of 2021, and five additional felony charges, including an additional charge for criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13 years of age, two charges of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, significant relationship, child under 16 years of age, multiple acts and two charges of attempted 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, child under 13 years of age in the case were all dismissed with Belden’s guilty plea.
