Austin man sentenced to jail time, supervised on felony drug sale charge in Mower County District Court
An Austin man who sold .60 grams of heroin to a confidential reliable informant with the Austin Police Department on September 18th, 2019 has been sentenced to jail time and supervised probation in Mower County District Court.
In an amended court decision Monday, 25-year old Austin Douglas Kinder was sentenced to a total of 135 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 3rd degree drugs, sale of a narcotic. Kinder was given credit for a total of 16 days already served, and a 21-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Kinder complies with the 21 different conditions of his probation.
Kinder first pleaded guilty to the charge on January 23rd, 2020, and he was originally convicted on May 28th of the same year. A felony 5th degree drug possession charge in the case against Kinder was dismissed with his guilty plea.
