Austin man sentenced to prison time on domestic assault charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man facing a felony domestic assault charge in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that took place on July 26th has been sentenced to prison time. 

42-year old Tyler John Hill was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison for a felony charge of domestic assault.  Hill, who was sentenced to four years in prison in 2017 after facing more than 32 felony counts after an 11-hour armed standoff with authorities on December 10th, 2016, in Lyle Township and other incidents pleaded guilty to the charge on October 22nd, and he was convicted the same day.

Felony charges for 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon and for threats of violence in the case were dismissed with Hill’s guilty plea.
