Austin man sentenced to prison time on felony firearm possession, aggravated robbery charges in Mower County District Court
An Austin man who was taken into custody after a lengthy standoff on the evening of March 7th after officers with the Austin Police Department and the Austin Mower Special Incident Response Team (SIRT) responded to a residence in southwest Austin where firearms were found, one of which was reported stolen, has been sentenced to prison time in two separate cases in Mower County District Court.
29-year old Terrance Gustaf Book was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 60 months, or five years in prison for a felony charge of possess any firearm, convicted or adjudicated delinquent for a crime of violence stemming from the March 7th incident. Book was given credit for 100 days already served, and he first pleaded guilty to the charge on May 19th. An additional felony charge of possess any firearm, convicted or adjudicated delinquent for a crime of violence, plus two felony charges for possess ammunition, convicted or adjudicated delinquent for a crime of violence, and felony charges for receiving stolen property, possession of an electronic incapacitation device, conviction or adjudicated delinquent for a crime of violence, possession of a suppressor, not lawfully possessed, and for 5th degree drug possession in the case were all dismissed with Book’s guilty plea.
Book was also convicted and sentenced Thursday to 60 months, or five years in prison after pleading guilty on May 19th to a felony charge of 1st degree aggravated robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon stemming from an incident that took place in Austin on December 15th, 2022. Book was again given credit for 100 days already served, and a felony charge for theft, taking and driving a motor vehicle with no owner consent in the case was dismissed with Book’s guilty plea.
