Austin man sentenced to prison time, restitution on felony burglary charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who burglarized a residence under construction in the 11000 block of 535th Avenue in Lyle Township on August 1st, 2021 has been sentenced to prison time and restitution in Mower County District Court.

48-year old Troy Arthur Leeper was sentenced Tuesday to 33 months in prison and $2,430 in restitution for a felony charge of 3rd degree burglary.  Leeper first pleaded guilty to the charge on March 17th of this year, and he was convicted on July 28th.  Felony charges for 2nd degree burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, theft, taking, using or transferring movable property without consent, and for receiving stolen property in the case were dismissed with Leeper’s guilty plea.
