Austin man sentenced to supervised probation on felony criminal damage to property, vehicle theft charges in Mower County District Court

An Austin man facing a felony criminal damage to property charge in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that took place on November 12th, 2021 has been sentenced to supervised probation.

32-year old Arsenio Broderick Hanson was convicted and sentenced Thursday to five years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 1st degree criminal damage to property.  A 24-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Hanson complies with the terms of his probation, and Judge Kevin Siefken determined that the sentence can be served concurrently with another sentence of five years of supervised probation and just over $1,400 in restitution and fees for a felony charge of theft, taking and driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent stemming from an incident that took place on August 30th, 2021.  Hanson, who pleaded guilty to the felony theft charge on January 20th, 2022 was given credit for 112 days already served in that case, and a 26-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Hanson adheres to the conditions of his probation.

Misdemeanor charges for theft of motor fuel from a retailer and for driving after revocation in the case were dismissed with Hanson’s guilty plea.
