Austin man sentenced to supervised probation on felony drug charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who was caught with drugs and counterfeit money in a city park in the 500 block of 2nd St. SW in Austin in June has been sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court.

32-year old Danio Dorres pleaded guilty to a felony charge of third-degree drugs, possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic in a park zone and was sentenced to five years of supervised probation.  Dorres was also granted a stay of adjudication in the case where the defendant pleads guilty to a felony-level offense.  If he or she successfully completes their probation, the conviction is removed from their record.

Dorres was arrested on June 22nd after Austin Police reported that he was found with approximately one gram of methamphetamine, a drug pipe, and four counterfeit $100 bills.

A felony fifth-degree drug possession charge, two gross misdemeanor counts of counterfeiting of currency, uttering or possessing, and a petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia were all dismissed with Dorres’ guilty plea in the case.
