Austin man sentenced to supervised probation, restitution and fees on property damage, DWI charges in Mower County District Court

An Austin man facing damage to property and DWI charges in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that occurred on January 17th has been sentenced to supervised probation, restitution and fees.

30-year old Joshua Laughlin was convicted and sentenced Thursday to three years of supervised probation and $3,630 in restitution and fees for a felony charge of 1st degree damage to property.  A prison term of a year and a day was stayed for three years if Laughlin complies with the 18 different terms of his probation, and Laughlin was also convicted and sentenced Thursday to a year of supervised probation for a gross misdemeanor charge of DWI, operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher within two hours.  A 180-day jail sentence was stayed for one year if Laughlin complies with the terms of his probation, and Judge Jeffery Kritzer determined that Laughlin may serve the two sentences concurrently.

Laughlin pleaded guilty to the two charges on June 17th, and a felony charge for 4th degree assault on a peace officer in the case was dismissed with his guilty plea.
