Austin Packers boys’ golf fifth in nine team Lake City Invitational Monday
The Austin Packers boys’ golf team traveled to the aptly named Jewel Golf Club in Lake City Monday for a nine-team invitational involving the Packers, the host Tigers, Owatonna, Red Wing, byron, Rochester John Marshall, Kasson-Mantorville, Cannon Falls and Winona Cotter, and it was the Huskies taking first with a team total of 321, eight strokes better than Red Wing in second with a 329, Lake City took third in their own invitational with a team score of 331, Byron was fourth at 347, followed by Austin in fifth at 353, John Marshall took sixth with a 355, Kasson-Mantorville claimed seventh with a team total of 362, Cannon Falls was eighth with a 405 and the Cotter Ramblers were eighth with a team tally of 445.
Senior Ian Bundy shot the low round for the Packers with an 82, 8th grader Cale Tupy carded an 88, 7th grader Isaac Anderson fired an 89, fellow 7th grader Elijah Krueger carded a 94, sophomore Max Bissen finished with a 95 and senior Ben Ziems shot a 106.
Austin is right back into action this afternoon at the Mankato Golf Club for a Big 9 dual meet with the West Scarlets, with tee off at 2:30 p.m.
