Austin Packers boys’ golf hosts Big 9 quadrangular at Austin Country Club

The Austin Packers boys’ golf team played host to a quadrangular at the Austin Country Club Monday afternoon that involved Big 9 foes Rochester Century, Rochester John Marshall and Faribault, and it was the Century Panthers winning with a team score of 347, followed by the Rockets in a distant second 34 strokes back at 381, followed by Faribault at 399 and Austin in fourth at 403.

Eighth grader Cale Tupy fired the low score for Austin Monday with an 87, followed by 7th grader Elijah Krueger with a 102, sophomores Joe Garry and Dane Mitchell both shot a 107 for the Packers, followed by sophomore Joe Ewing with a 110 and freshman Izaac Erickson with a 111.

Austin returns to action next Monday at a seven-team invitational hosted by Lake City at The Jewell Golf Club.  The invitational will also include Byron, Kasson/Mantorville, Rochester John Marshall, Cannon Falls and Owatonna, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon.
