Austin Packers boys golf opens with 404-363 loss to Albert Lea at Austin Country Club

The Austin Packers boys’ golf team, under the tutleage of Head Coach Matt Raso opened the 2021 season at the Austin Country Club against Albert Lea on a cold, blustery Tuesday afternoon, and it was the Tigers downing the a young Packer squad 363-404.
Cale Tupy shot the low round for Austin with a 98, Joe Ewing fired a 100, Ben Ziems, who was the only golfer playing for the Packers Tuesday with varsity experience shooting a 101, Eli Krueger finshed with a round of 105, Izaac Erickson finished the day with a 111 and Joe Garry shot a round of 112.
Coach Raso stated that the Packers were without their number one player, Ian Bundy, who is also playing baseball this spring. Austin is back in action next Monday in another home meet at the Austin Country Club, this one a triagular with Big 9 rivals Owatonna and Red Wing, with tee-off set for 2:30 p.m.
