Austin Packers boys’ golf team advances two individuals to Day 2 of Section 1AAA tournament in Lake City

The Austin Packers boys’ golf team took part in day 1 of the Section 1AAA tournament at The Jewel in Lake City Tuesday, and in the team competition, Lakeville North finished on top on the first day with a total of 301, followed by Farmington two strokes back in second at 303.  Also advancing to day 2 was Northfield with a total of 305, Lakeville South with a team total of 310, Rochester Mayo with a 315 and Albert Lea, who shot a team score of 328.  The top six teams in the 13-team field advanced to day 2, and Austin finshed 10th after shooting a team-best total for the season of 344.

Individually, senior Ian Bundy carded a 79 and freshman Izaac Erickson shot an 86 to advance to the second day of the tournament for Austin, and other scores for the Packers included 7th grader Isaac Anderson with an 88, 8th grader Cale Tupy fired a 91, 7th grader Elijah Krueger carded a 95 and sophomore Max Bissen shot a 99.
