Austin Packers boys golf team hosts first home meet of the 2023 season Tuesday
The Austin Packers boys golf team played host to their first home meet of the 2023 season at the Austin Country Club Tuesday versus Rochester Mayo and Rochester Century in a Big 9 Conference triangular, and it was the Packers shooting their lowest team score of the season thus far with a 332. Mayo took first in the team competition with a score of 318, five strokes better than Century in second at 323.
Freshman Isaac Anderson fired the low round of the day for Austin with a 79, sophomore Cale Tupy carded an 82, junior Isaac Erickson shot an 85, freshman teammate Elijah Krueger was close behind with an 86, sophomore Carter Hovelsrud finished with a 92, and junior Owen O’Rourke registered a score of 96.
The Packers return to action in a Big 9 Conference meet Thursday in Faribault at the Faribault Golf and Country Club, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
