Austin Packers boys’ soccer ties Rochester Lourdes Saturday 2-2

The Austin Packers boys’ soccer team, fresh off a 4-0 shutout of Albert Lea last Thursday looked to keep their winning ways going in Rochester against the Lourdes Eagles Saturday afternoon, and Aiden Martinez tallied a goal and an assist to help lead the Packers to a 2-2 draw with Lourdes at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.

Martinez assisted on a goal by Poe Reh in the 38th minute, and the then tallied what turned out to the the tying goal early in the 73rd minute.  Junior forward Joey Lonzo tallied twice for Lourdes in the match, while senior midfielder Jonah Morris added an assist.

With the draw Saturday afternoon, Austin is now 2-3-3 on the season, and the Packers return to action Tuesday evening at Art Hass Stadium versus the Northfield Raiders in a Big 9 Conference clash, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
