The Austin Packers boys’ soccer team, the No. 1 team in the state in the first Class AA poll of the season opened the 2021 campaign with a non-conference matchup at St. Paul Como Park, and the Packers and the Cougars played to a 1-1 draw.
Austin returns to action for their home opener Thursday night against Big 9 Conference rival Mankato East, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. The Packers will then travel to Red Wing next Tuesday, September 7th before returning home with a match against Owatonna on Thursday, September 9th. Austin will then play five of their next six games on the road, including four in a row at Worthington on Saturday, September 11th, at Rochester Century on Tuesday, September 14th, at Albert Lea on Thursday, September 16th and at former Section 1A rival Rochester Lourdes on Saturday September 18th before returing to Art Hass Stadium to host Northfield on Tuesday, September 21st.
Austin will then hit the road again on Thursday, September 23rd to take on Winona before finishing up their September scheduled with a home game against Rochester Mayo on Tuesday, September 28th and then traveling to Faribault to take on the Falcons on Thursday, September 30th.
