Austin Packers boys’ track and field team competes in Rochester Mayo quadrangular Tuesday

The Austin Packers boys’ track and field team competed in a Big 9 Conference quadrangular Tuesday at Rochester Mayo High School with the host Spartans, Northfield and Mankato West, and it was the host Spartans taking first with 115 team points, Mankato West was second with 80 points, followed by Northfield in third 43.5 points and Austin in fourth with 33.5 points.

High finishers for the Packers included Kaden Murley and A’triel Terry, who finished third and fourth in the 200 meter dash with times of 24.02 and 24.13 seconds, respectivley, Blake Petrik was fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.23, Alex Petrik was second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.02 and Jackson Marsh took fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:42.14, plus he took third in the 3200 meter run with a final time 10:39.05.

Austin’s 4 x 100 meter relay team of Jordan Salinas, Joseph Walker, Kaden Murley and A’triel Terry was third Tuesday with a time of 46.68 seconds, the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Murley, Nicholas Asmus, Alex Petrik and Blake Petrik was third with a time of 3:41.31 and the Packers’ 4 x 800 meter relay team of Alex Petrik, Casey Berg, Thomas Herrick and Blake Petrik was second with a final time of 8:57.70.

Matthew Grush tied for second for Austin in the pole vault as he cleared 10′, and Joseph Walker took third in the long jump for the Packers with an effort of 19′ 4.5.”  Austin returns to action next Tuesday as they play host to Mankato East, Mankato West and Northfield in a Big 9 Conference quadrangular, with a 4:30 p.m. start time at the Wescott Athletic Complex.
