Austin Packers girls’ golf sixth at Big 9 Meet in Mankato Thursday

The Austin Packers girls’ golf team was on the road at the Mankato North Links Golf Club Thursday for the Big 9 Conference Meet, and it was the Packers firing a team total of 383, which was good for sixth place overall.  Northfield finished with a team total of 326 to claim first place by 14 strokes over second-place Albert Lea,who finished at 340.

As she has all season long, 7th grader Ailiani Thiravong led the way individually for Austin by shooting an 80, followed by freshman Izzy Sellers, who carded a 97.  Freshman Anna Kossman finished with a 100, 7th grader Sydney Lewis shot a 106, senior Mallory Brown carded a 107 and freshman Anita Rao finished with a 108.

Next up for Austin will be the Section 1AA meet, which will tee off at Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls next Tuesday, May 31st.
