Austin Packers girls’ soccer falls to Northfield 8-1

The Austin Packers girls’ soccer team was on the road for a Big 9 Conference game with the Northfield Raiders Tuesday evening, and junior Ava Stanchina had a monster game for the Raiders with five goals and two assists to lead the hosts to an 8-1 victory.

Freshman Katherine Hubers also helped Northfield’s cause immensely with two goals and two assists, junior Millie Bouvin added a goal and an assist, and juniors Leta Prestemon and Sidney Koehler each added an assist in the winning effort.

Isikiyah Hemann tallied the lone goal for Austin in the first half, and with the loss, the Packers are 1-5 in the Big 9 Conference and 1-7 overall.  Austin returns to action at home Friday night versus Winona, with the varsity kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
