Austin Packers girls soccer falls to Red Wing 1-0 in home opener Tuesday night

The Austin Packers girls’ soccer team played host to Red Wing at Art Hass Stadium for their 2021 home opener Tuesday evening, but it was the Wingers spoiling the occasion as a goal from Kayla Radtke in the 40th minute, with an assist to Sammi Chandler proved to be enough in a 1-0 Red Wing win.

Tory Senty turned away all three Austin shots she faced to earn the shutout in net for the Wingers, while Mya Walters made 13 saves for the Packers, who are now 0-1 in the Big 9 Conference and 0-2 overall.

Austin returns to action Thursday night in Owatonna versus the Huskies, with the varsity kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
