Austin Packers girls’ swimming and diving team downs Rochester John Marshall Tuesday evening 99-87
The Austin Packers girls’ swimming and diving team was on the road at Rochester Tuesday evening for their last Big 9 Conference regular season dual meet with the John Marshall Rockets, and it was the Packers leaving the Med City with a 99-87 win.
High finishers for Austin included the 200 individual medley relay team of Olivia Walsh, Kaylee Butts, Amber Boysen and Anna Kossman taking second place with a time of 2:07.67, Madelynn Murley was first for the Packers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.78, while teammate Gracie Greenman was third with a time of 2:21.93. Butts was third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:38.40, and Olivia Walsh was first for Austin in the 50 free with a time of 25.91,and teammate Anna Kossman was third with a time of 27.53.
Austin swept the top three spots in 1-meter diving as Rachel Engelstad was first with a score of 185.65, Reese Norton was second with a final score of 177.80 and Alayna Kennedy took third with a score of 172.00. Olivia Walsh took first for the Packers in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:08.66, and Alivia Henry and Mackenzie Carter took second and third, respectivley in the 100 freestyle with times of 1:00.77 and 1:03.51.
Gracie Greenman and Jaycie Pollak were second and third for Austin in the 500 freestyle with times of 1:50.24 and 154.85, and the 200 relay team of Mackenzie Carter, Anna Kossman, Alivia Hemry and Olivia Walsh were second with a time of 1:50.24. Kaylee Butts was second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.09, and teammate Sydney Tobak was third with a time of 1:22.90. Madelynn Murley took second for the Packers in the 100 backstroke with a final time of 1:08.11, and Austin’s 400 relay team was first with a final time of 4:16.38.
The Packers are now off until Friday, October 29th when they will travel to Northfield for the diving portion of the Big 9 Conference meet at 5:15 p.m. that day, and the swimming portion of the meet will be held at the Rochester Rec Center on Saturday, October 30th at 3:00 p.m.
