The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team traveled to Mankato East High School Saturday for the 7-team Cougar Relays, and it was the Packers taking third place in the team competition with 298 points.  The host Cougars were first with 335 team points, followed by St. Peter in second with 311 points, then it was the Packers, followed by Mankato West, Owatonna, Faribault and Tri-City United in the order of finish.

High finishers for Austin Saturday included the squad’s 200 medley relay team of Gracie Greenman, Alivia Hemry, Sydney Tobak and Abbie Boysen, who took third with a time of 2:03.14, and the 200 freestyle relay 4 x 50 free team of Boysen, Greenman, Anna Kossman and Hemry were first Saturday with a time of 1:48.10.  Austin’s diving relay team also was first Saturday with 549.80 points, and the 300 backstroke 3 x 100 relay team of Greenman, 7th grader Victoria Batalden and Kossman were third with a final time of 3:39.36.

Austin’s 300 breaststroke 3 x 100 relay team of Anita Rau, Eva Taylor and Addison Tobak was third with a time of 4:17.55, and the Packers went 1-2 in the 1-meter diving competiton, with Reese Norton taking first with 214.20 points, and teammate Alayna Kennedy in second with 210.95 points.

Austin returns to action Thursday at Bud Higgins Pool in a Big 9 Conference dual meet with Red Wing, with the action scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
