Austin Packers gymnastics team sends three to state meet at Section 1A meet in Austin Saturday

The Austin Packers gymnastics team played host to the Section 1A meet at the YMCA Saturday, and in the team competition, the Packers earned a third-place finish with 139.650 points.  Winona/Cotter edged Byron for first place and a berth in the State Class A Team Gymnastics Meet with 142.975 points, with the Bears in second with 141.950 points.

Individually, Austin will be sending three gymnasts to the State Class A Individual Gymnastics Meet, as Kiki Rodriguez qualified on the vault by taking third with a score of 9.200, and she will be returning to the state meet in the floor exercise,  where she was third Saturday with a score of 9.400.  Also headed to the state meet for the Packers will be Hanna Fritz, who qualified for the vault by taking fourth with a score of 9.125, and she will be returning to state on the uneven bars by taking fourth Saturday with a score of 8.450.  Katelynn Klouse will also be competing in the state meet on the bars, where she took sixth Saturday with a score of 8.275, and Klouse also qualified on the balance beam by taking third with a score of 9.250.

The State Class A Gymnastics meet will be held this coming Friday and Saturday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, with the team event to be held on Friday, and the individual competition will be Saturday.
