Austin Packers volleyball team 2-2 at Jackson County Central Invitational Saturday

The Austin Packers volleyball team hit the road to Jackson Saturday for the Jackson County Central Invitational, and it was the Packers going 2-2 for the tournament, as they started with a loss to Heron Lake Okabena Lakefield / Fulda by scores of 25-21 and 25-14, then rebounding to defeat Luverne by scores of 25-21 and 25-20. The Packers then fell in their third match of the day to Worthington 25-21 and 25-12, but they then came back to down Martin County West in their fourth and final match of the day 25-21 and 25-21.
Isabella Bolster led Austin in kills Saturday with 20, plus she also led the team in blocks with six, and she also added one ace serve, three set assists and four digs. Aggie McKichan piled up 16 kills, plus she tallied 15 digs defensively and added four blocks as well, Kathryn Crouch led the Packers in ace serves for the invitational with 10, plus she put down 11 kills, put up five set assists, and tallied 38 digs, Ava Denzer totaled nine kills, four ace serves, three assists, 41 digs defensively and three blocks, Katara Fischer tallied seven kills, one set assist, two digs and three blocks Saturday, Alia Retterath led the Packers in set assists Saturday with 38, plus she also totaled six kills, one ace serve, 21 digs and one block, Haleigh Holman put up 16 set assists, plus she also served up four aces and added 10 digs as well, and Kristen Neilsen led Austin in digs Saturday with 42, plus she also chipped in four kills, six ace serves and six assists.
Austin is now 9-7 overall on the season and 1-1 in the Big 9 Conference, and the Packers return to action Tuesday night in Owatonna versus the Huskies, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
