The Austin Packers volleyball team opened the home portion of their 2023 season versus Lewiston-Altura in a non-conference match at Packer Gym Tuesday evening, and it was the Packers coming away with a 3-1 win by scores of 25-13, 25-17, 21-25 and 25-20.
Austin was led offensively by Aggie McKichan, who tallied 11 kills to go with 10 digs and a team-high nine blocks, Katherine Crouch tallied seven kills, plus she led the Packers in digs defensively with 28, and Crouch also put up three set assists, Quinn Osgood chipped in five kills, 22 digs defensively, one set assist and a team-high three ace serves, Nora Sand tallied five kills and one dig, Isabella Bolster contributed four kills, two digs, two ace serves and six blocks, Ava Denzer totaled four kills, four digs and two ace blocks, Alia Retterath tallied three kills, plus she led the squad in set assists with 17, plus Retterath added nine digs and two ace serves, Haleigh Holman put up 13 set assists, plus she added six digs and one ace serve, and Kristen Neilsen contributed two set assists, one ace serve and 18 digs defensively in the win.
Austin is now 2-3 overall on the season, and the Packers are back in action Thursday night in Rochester versus the John Marshall Rockets in the Big 9 Conference, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
