Austin Police and Fire Departments respond to accident at Wells Fargo Bank building

The Austin Police and Fire Departments responded to an accident at the Wells Fargo Bank building in downtown Austin Thursday afternoon where a pickup truck drove into the building.

The accident took place at approximately 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and the identity of the individual involved in the accident and the reason as to why the vehicle crashed into the building have not yet been released.  

Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that there were no injuries, however the vehicle, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma pickup and a section of the building both suffered significant damage.  McKichan added that no charges will be filed stemming from the incident.
