Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team downed by Kenyon/Wanamingo 76-47
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team was in search of win number two in a row in Kenyon Tuesday night in a Gopher Conference matchup with a tough Knights squad that has scored wins over the likes of state-ranked Hayfield this season, and it was the Knights completing a regular-season sweep of the Blossoms with a 76-47 win, their fifth in a row.
The Blossoms, who trailed 38-18 at the half were led offensively by Gabe Hein, who drilled a pair of 3-pointers on his way to 12 points, Brady Kittleson also swished a pair of 3’s for 11 points, Kolby Vigeland hit a 3 on his way to six points, Cooper Cooke added five points, Zach Hein chipped in four points, Dylan Anderson scored three points for BP Tuesday night and Gabe Staloch, Sam Smith and Carter Bishop all added two points apiece, while Colton Steberg drained two of Kenyon/Wanamingo’s nine 3-pointers in the game for 18 points to lead all scorers.
With the loss, Blooming Prairie is now 6-11 overall on the season and 2-9 in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms return to action at home Friday night versus Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
