Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team falls at Randolph 61-45 Tuesday night

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team was looking to get back on the winning track in Randolph Tuesday evening versus the Rockets in a Gopher Conference matchup, but it was the Rockets coming away with their second win in a row and sixth in their last seven games by a score of 61-45.

Randolph led 33-27 at the half and had advantages for the game in 2-point shooting, going 23 for 56 for 41% compared to 19 for 53 for the Blossoms for 35%, and from behind the 3-point arc, the Rockets were 7 for 19 for 36% to 4 for 14 for BP for 28%.  The Rockets also outrebounded Blooming Prairie by a margin of 37-29, and they also had the advantage in second-chance points with 11 to four for the Blossoms.  The Rockets were victorious despite turning the ball over 14 times to 11 for the Blossoms, and Blooming Prairie also had the advantage in points off turnovers with 12 to 10 for Randolph.

Blooming Prairie had three players in double figures Tuesday night, as they were led by Gabe Hein who tallied 16 points and four rebounds, Cooper Cooke scored 12 points and added a team-high eight rebounds and one assist, Zach Hein chipped in 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal, Jacob Pauly scored four points and Brady Kittleson tallied three points, three rebounds and an assist in the loss Tuesday night.

Blooming Prairie is now 2-7 overall on the season and 0-5 in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms will play host to Bethlehem Academy Friday night for their next game, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
