Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team felled by LaCrescent-Hokah 81-59 in Section 1AA first round action

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team, the No. 12 seed in the Section 1AA tournament traveled to LaCrescent Thursday evening to attempt to upset the No. 5 seeded Lancers and move into the tournament quarterfinals, but it was the Lancers defending their home floor to the tune of an 81-59 win.

Gabe Hein and Brady Kittleson were both in double figures in scoring for the Blossoms Thursday night, with Hein netting 23 points and Kittleson draining three 3-pointers on his way to 14 points.  Zack Hein swished two 3’s on his way to 15 points, Kolby Vigeland chipped in six points, and Cooper Cooke added one point.  Carter Todd of LaCrescent-Hokah led all scorers in the game with 24 points.

With the loss, Blooming Prairie’s season ends with a record of 9-15, while LaCrescent-Hokah advances into the section quarterfinals to play fourth-seeded Cannon Falls, who dispatched 13th seeded Winona Cotter 79-53 Thursday evening.
