The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms football team, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AA in the latest AP poll was on the road Saturday to Winthrop to take on the Thunderbirds of Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, the No. 5 team in the state in Class A in the poll, and the Blossoms, who are averaging just under 48 points per game this season exceeded that average Saturday in a 54-8 win.

Quarterback Drew Kittleson was 9 of 14 passing Saturday for 202 yards and four touchdowns for a passer rating of 147.3.  Tyler Archer had a big day running the ball for the Blossoms as he carried the rock 10 times for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Colin Jordinson hauled in four passes for 92 yards and two more scores in the lopsided win.

BP is now 6-0 on the season, and the Blossoms return to action Friday for their final regular-season home game versus NRHEG, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
