Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls’ basketball team downs Triton 45-31 in Dodge Center Tuesday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls’ basketball team was on the road in Dodge Center Tuesday evening for a Gopher Conference matchup with the Triton Cobras, and after leading 25-19 at the half, the Blossoms scored the first five points of the second half to push their lead to double digits, and the lead stayed above 10 the rest of the way in a 45-31 BP win.

Senior guard Bobbie Bruns helped to lead the way to a win for Blooming Prairie with 13 points, eight assits and five steals, Anna Pauly was the anchor of  the Blossoms’ defense in the middle and also added 10 points and eight rebounds, Macy Lembke, Haven Carlson and Addison Doocy each scored six points apiece, Shawntee Snyder scored three points and added a team-high 10 rebounds and Melaine Winzenburg scored one point for the Blossoms, who moved to 5-1 in the Gopher Conference and 8-5 overall on the season with their fifth win in their last six games.

Blooming Prairie returns to action in Grand Meadow Thursday night for a non-conference matchup with the Superlarks, with the varisty tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
