The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was looking to get back on the winning track at home Tuesday evening as they played host to the Triton Cobras in a Gopher Conference matchup, and in a game that saw the Cobras almost come all the way back from a 30-15 halftime deficit, the Blossoms were able to ultimately hold off the rally in a 44-40 win.

The Blossoms had three players in double figures, led by Addison Doocy and Macy Lembke, who both tallied 12 points apiece, with Lembke draining three of BP’s four 3-pointers in the game, guard Shawntee Snyder added 11 points, Ella Smith tallied four points, Claire Schwarz hit a 3-pointer for three points, and Catelyn Bartlett added two points in the win.

The Awesome Blossoms are now 9-2 overall on the season and 6-2 in the Gopher Conference, and Blooming Prairie returns to action at home Thursday night versus Pine Island out of the Hiawatha Valley League, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:15 pm.  You’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show getting underway at 7:00 pm.
