Blooming Prairie baseball doubles up FBA 6-3

In a quirk in their schedule, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms baseball team faced off with Bethlehem Academy for the second straight day Tuesday in Faribault, and for the second straight day, the Blossoms were victorious as they doubled up the Cardinals 6-3.

Joe Pirkl had a huge day at the plate for the Blossoms as he went 4 for 4 with a double and a RBI, Christopher Naatz was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs knocked in, and Alex Miller was 2 for 4 with a RBI.  Jacob Naatz earned the complete game win on the mound for BP as he gave up the three Cardinal runs in seven innings of work, one earned on three hits, striking out six and walking three.

The win for Blooming Prairie was their fourth in their last five games to move to 3-4 in the Gopher Conference and 4-6 overall.  The Blosoms return to action at Hayfield Friday against the Vikings, currently ranked the No. 1 team in the state in Class A.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
