Blooming Prairie softball scores second straight shutout to open 2021 season 11-0 over USC Monday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was on the road for the first time this 2021 season Monday as they traveled to Gopher Conference rival United South Central, and the Blosssoms broke the game open with six runs in the top of the fourth, and Allison Krohnberg threw her second straight shutout to start the season as Blooming Prairie blanked the Rebels 11-0 in five innnigs.

Macy Lembke went 3 for 4 for the Blossoms with three RBI’s a stolen base and four runs scored, Bobbie Bruns was also 3 for 4 with a triple, two RBI’s two stolen bases and two runs scored, Maren Forystek went 2 for 4 with a homer, four runs knocked in and a run scored, Lexi Steckelberg was 1 for 1 with a triple and a run scored and Emily Anderson was also 1 for 1 with a walk and a run scored as Blooming Prairie rapped out 10 hits, and they were also aided by four USC errors in the game.

Krohnberg gave up only one hit in the circle for BP Monday in five innings of work, striking out six and walking three in the shutout, her second straight to open the young season.

The Blossoms are out to a 2-0 start, and they return to action at home Thursday against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.
