City of Austin declares snow emergency

The city of Austin has declared a snow emergency, which will be in effect from 12:00 a.m. Wednesday February 22nd to 12:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25th. 

During this period, parking in the business area of the City of Austin will be prohibited between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The area includes midtown Austin, the Sterling Shopping Center, the Hormel Plant area and the East Side business area.

For parking in the residential areas of the city, all vehicles on streets, avenues, places and drives of the city of Austin, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. to the succeeding day must be parked on the side of the streets, avenues, places and drives bearing an even-numbered U.S. postal office address on even-numbered days of the month, and all vehicles on streets, avenues, places and drives of the city of Austin, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. to the succeeding day, must be parked on the side of the streets, avenues, places and drives bearing and odd-numbered U.S. postal office address on odd-numbered days of the month.
